A website is not a project that ends. It is a piece of operational infrastructure. We build sites the same way we build internal applications: maintainable, performant, accessible, and documented. The sites we build do not look like template-shop output, and they do not break when you try to update them.
What we build
Marketing sites
Sites that explain what your organization does, to the people who need to find you. Built around content (yours and ours, written by humans), with the technical foundations that let search engines and screen readers find their way around. Editable by your team after launch, not locked behind a developer.
Content management
WordPress when it fits, Laravel-based custom CMS when something more specific is needed. Real editorial workflows, not "here is the WYSIWYG, good luck." Permissions, draft and review states, scheduled publishing, and the audit trail you need if multiple people touch the site.
E-commerce
Online stores from the simple (Stripe checkout for a handful of products) to the complex (custom catalogs, B2B pricing, integration with accounting and inventory). We pick the platform that fits: Shopify when you need it, WooCommerce when WordPress fits, custom when neither does.
Public-sector and government sites
Accessibility-first builds (WCAG 2.1 AA), Section 508 conformance for federal procurement, transparent procurement workflows, agenda and minutes management, public records portals. We have worked with municipal and county clients whose sites are required to remain available and current.
Hosting and ongoing care
Hosting on infrastructure we manage, with backups, monitoring, security patches, and content updates. Most clients are on a monthly retainer for the work that comes after launch: edits, new pages, performance tuning, the occasional design refresh. The site stays current because someone whose job is staying current is paying attention to it.
How engagements work
New sites: discovery, design, build, launch. Fixed-fee. Existing sites: assessment, then a maintenance retainer with a defined scope and SLA. Either way, you own the code and the content. If we ever part ways, the site comes with you.
Performance and SEO
Sites are built to load fast on mobile and to be readable by search engines. Lighthouse scores in the 90s on the homepage are the floor, not the ceiling. Schema markup, meta tags, sitemaps, and the technical SEO baseline are part of the build, not a bolted-on afterthought.
Accessibility
WCAG 2.1 AA conformance on every site we build, including ones for clients who do not specifically require it. Semantic HTML, color contrast, keyboard navigation, screen reader testing, and the documentation an accessibility audit will ask for.
